NCAA Championship

Tonight, the Louisville Cardinals take on the Michigan Wolverines, in the NCAA Championship.  Both teams, have made it a long way.  Louisville beat No.2 seed Duke in a rout, and battled down to the wire against Wichita State.  Michigan dominated VCU, beat No.1 seed Kansas, beat Florida, and barely beat Syracuse.  Michigan’s center Mitch McGary has been outstanding.  If its been rebounding, scoring, playing fantastic defense, or just setting a screen he has done it all.  Point guard Trey Burke has also been outstanding as well, he’s been dropping dimes, and he has also been scoring extremely efficiently, including a game tier against No.1 seed Kansas.  But three point fanatic Nik Stauskas has struggled shooting the ball from beyond the arc.

Louisville has a bunch of players that are borderline first round NBA draft picks.  Guys like Gorgui Dieng, Russ Smith, and Montzrel Harrell.  Smith is a flat out shooter, and he is one of the most clutch shooters in the nation.  Dieng for his size is a fantastic passer, he is a good shot blocker, and he is good on the offensive end.  Harrell has a great combination of size and speed.  Point guard Peyton Siva is too overrated.  In my eyes he is a little bit better than the average point guard.  He does everything that they do, he defends, drop dimes, and shoots.  Chane Behanan could develop into a superstar.  He has shown flashes of being a star, but he is raw.

In all, this has been a fantastic NCAA year, but I think that Louisville will win because of their full court pressure.  They have shown me that they can lock down on an offense with their pressure.
